For example, your day might start at 9 am with a ferry boat ride along Thailand’s longest river, the Chao Praya.
 
Here you will see the beauty of the Old City which is home to such opulent temples as Wat Po (with its enormous 46 metre long Reclining Buddha) and the glittering Wat Phra Keaw, the Royal Temple of the Grand Palace which will take your breath away.
 
A short stroll along the old city streets will bring you to the vendors in the crowded amulet market. Here you will gain an insight into the Thai belief system, especially the importance of Buddhism in everyday Thai life.
 
While you’re wandering through the endless maze of market streets why not grab an inexpensive local Thai snack or try the delicious seasonal Thai fruit at the sidewalk stalls.
 
Our private motorised long-tail boat will take us through the myriad of Klongs (canals). On a historical note, Bangkok was known as the Venice of the East. A boat ride along Thonburi’s canals with their remarkable scenery is an ideal way to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Old City.
 
Why not visit the popular Royal Barge Museum, where you will see one of the outstanding royal water procession ; Suphannahong with golden swan figurehead which is considered the world’s largest dug-out barge made from one piece of timber. If it is a weekend, you will be able to visit the local Thaling Chan floating market. You may also like to take a ride on a Thai Tuk Tuk to visit the bustling market at one of Bangkok’s oldest neighborhoods – Thai’s China Town (Yaowarat community). This is also home to the world famous 5.5 ton solid gold Buddha image at Wat Traimit.
 
This afternoon, why not enjoy an authentic Thai lunch at Jim Thompson’s house before touring the extraordinary Thai & Asian antique collection and Thai silk produce displayed in Jim’s house: a complex of interlinked teak wood Thai houses.
