Nakhon Prathom & Bridge over the River Kwai

“Nakhon Prathom” province, situated 56 km west of Bangkok, dates from about 150 BC. It is also home to the region’s first center of Buddhist learning, established there about 1,000 years ago.

The most spectacular attraction is “Pra Pathom Chedi”, the tallest 120 meters Buddhist monument in the world.

After an one hour drive, you may wish to visit Kanchanaburi War Cemetery where almost 7,000 Allied prisoners are buried !!! You are invited to visit JEATH war museum. Don't miss to walk across the infamous "Bridge over the River Kwai", which was built by Allied Prisoners of War during World War II.
Take an exciting ride on the infamous "Death Railway" train which will take you through some spectacular steep gorges and round sheer cliff.

You may choose to have lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the river.
Finally, you may wish to see famous Kanchanaburi's Tiger Temple before returning to Bangkok. ( Optional tour and your entrance ticket costs 600 THB per person )
