Phil Travel Guide Thailand

Amazing Lopburi ( La-Wo ) & Saraburi

Time : 8 am - 6 pm ( daily )

About 160 km North of Bangkok is Lopburi, one of Thailand’s oldest cities. Lopburi is an unusual mixture of Khmer, Thai and Western architecture.

Many tourists will opt to visit a beautiful landscape of blooming sunflowers fields scattering between Lop Buri and Saraburi province during winter time.

You will visit “Phra Narai Ratchaniwet”, where King Narai made his second capital to escape the heat and humidity of Ayutthaya in late 16th century.

You will also see “San Phra Kan”, a well known and respected Brahamical Shrine which is inhabited by a colony of very friendly monkeys and a well-known landmark Pra Prang Sam Yod, an originally Hindu sanctuary.

In the afternoon we will visit the famous “Phraputthabat Temple” and see its venerated footprint of Lord Buddha.

After this, you may wish to relax in one of the picturesque traditional Thai-Yuan houses by the Pa-Sak River, an unseen fascinating site before we return to Bangkok.

Note: Phra Narai Rachaniwet is closed Mondays and Tuesdays
