"In February 2012 we have been to Bangkok. We were very happy that we met our tour guide Phil just by chance in the internet. We booked a full day tour to the former royal city Ayutthaya. Phil organized everything perfectly we had a friendly private driver and clean air conditioned car. The tour was so diversified we walked through the beautiful park and he told us everything about the architecture, the history of Thailand as well as his culture, country and people. We did a little boat tour and had a perfect lunch in a restaurant next to the river. The second tour we went to Thakha to visit the Floating Market there. But the highlight was the marvelous "Train market" in Maeklong. Phil speaks perfectly English. He is very kind and friendly so we had also a lot of fun together. Second trip with Charlie and it was just as memorable and special as the first. The November floods required several changes in itinerary, and I appreciated Charlie's regular communication ahead of time as well as his efforts to find alternative plans that would still make this an enjoyable vacation for me. We traveled 1400+km visiting Saraburi, Lop Buri, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Buri Ram. Charlie brought me to local points of interest, restaurants, and the like I would never have found on my own. What's more, his easy going manner made him an ideal traveling companion. I really enjoyed my time in Bangkok with Phil as my guide. I've never hired a private guide before and Phil made my stay in Bangkok stress free. He took care of all the bookings, transportation and watched the time to make sure we arrived at the venues on time. He took me to places I would have gotten lost trying to find and saw more of Bangkok than I would have seen touring around on my own. What a wonderful idea we got to get a private guide "Tong", because we had only a day to visit Bangkok, and that we want to see the most of it. First, our guide was in time, waiting for us in our hotel. We were able to go to all the site the faster way because our guide knew how to get there. As a solo first time visitor to Thailand, hiring Phil was the way to go, he gives you a complete lay of the land and you will feel at ease with him straight away, he always reminds you that it is a private tour so there is no need to stick to any schedule and you can deviate and rest when ever you please, which is a great thing in Bangkoks heat, Phil will teach you how to use all the transport systems and help you negotiate with the tuk tuk drivers.I spent a day in Bangkok from 10am to midnight and it was one of the most memorable days of my trip I highly recommend Phils services to anyone traveling to Bangkok or other areas of Thailand, not only is his knowledge indispensable he is great company too. In October we stopped over in Bangkok for 2 nights to break our return trip from Europe. Having only 1 full day in Bangkok we wanted to make the most of our stay and see whatever we could in a short time. My daughter contacted Phil earlier in the year to take her and her husband on a special tour and was delighted with his knowledge of Thailand and his English which made communication so much easier. I did not hesitate for her to contact Phil on our behalf. Phil needed to make our tour an easy walking one as I had a broken leg last year and walking is not always easy. Phil listed a number of tour sites for us to visit and then sent this for our approval this worked extremely well. We did a private river cruise, visited the Grand Palace and the flower markets and had a relaxing lunch by the river. Phil was delightful we had such a wonderful time with Phil and would highly recommend him to anyone. Chalermchai Duangsuwan (Phil), Guide License 11-33585 was our tour guide in Bangkok. We employed his service for six days plus he arranged our transportation to and from the airport. I investigated other tour services before leaving for Bangkok and selected Phil due to my health issues. I have a bad heart and needed someone who would take that into consideration when planning our tours. He arranged tours in the morning, returned us to the hotel for rest in the afternoon and continued the tours in the evening. He always accomodated me when I needed to rest during the tours. We were never rushed and being able to move about at our own pace was fantastic. At two sites he even arranged elevators that were not available to the public so I would not have to try and navigate the stairs. Once it was the elevator for dignataries and royal family only. I just did an interesting night tour with Phil in Bangkok sometime around May 2011. I experienced Bangkok’s diverse nightlife scene features everything from excellent restaurant with breathtaking view to ultra cool bars and clubs. Phil is very open minded and never suffocating with information overload. You definitely bound to have a great few hours walking your way around Bangkok and hanging out with Phil. He keeps it light hearted and interjects humour into the tour. The night was so much better than it would have been without him. What an amazing tour! I didn't have a lot of time in Bangkok and I wanted to make the most of it. I contacted Phil and I am so glad that I did. I was nervous about traveling to Bangkok by myself but contacting Charlie was the best thing I could have done for my trip. He not only made me feel extremely safe and cared for, but also he helped me to have one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I had a great two days with Charlie doing his Classic Bangkok and Tiger Temple / Floating Market tours. On the first day I expressed interest in seeing the local flower market and Charlie was more than happy to adjust our itinerary to accommodate. This little insight into Bangkok life was such an unexpected delight, and Charlie's knowledge of the various flower arrangements and traditions was great. My highlight of day 2 - the Maeklong Railway Market. The sight of the vendors pulling their awnings out of the way, and then replacing them just as quickly after the train has passed was amazing. Lucky I had Charlie there to tell me to pull my head in further as the train passed within centimetres of my face! Charlie is such a knowledgeable, accommodating and charming guide that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to others. If this is your first time to Bangkok and you want to see the main sights, or if you have been many times and are looking to discover hidden gems i'm sure Charlie could assist. I have recently returned from a great holiday in Thailand. This was my third visit to Bangkok, but I decided to spend another 5 days in this fabulous city. Charlie was my guide for 3 of those days. I saw so many of the city sights with him that it is hard to believe we could do so much each day – so much more than is possible with the standard group tours. I had given him a list of the places I wanted to see on this visit and Charlie organised the program from there. Nothing was too difficult. Charlie knows Bangkok thoroughly and he was most helpful and informative. I had a great time and really enjoyed Charlie's company. Is year end again and i need to clear my leave, there is only one thing in my mind, i want to visit bangkok and i contact charlie straight away. (I just been to bangkok 2 months ago) Beside the shopping affair, charlie also tour to the non-touristy area, travel with the local transportation like canal boat, attend local mouth watering delicacy, cheap but skillful massage and much more. Also, the massage boy named AKE (being recommended by charlie) is very skillful and i feel relax afterward. Original plan to visit sunflower fields in Saraburi, but due to the raining season and flooding in the area, the flower will due to bloom at the end of month (as i travel beginning of the month). But charlie still managed continue and replace another itinerary like attend donation ceremony in charlie home village which is more meaningful and helpful. Sin duda la mejor opción para conocer el país, en todo momento estuvo pendiente de nosotros incluso cuando cambiamos de sitios, preocupándose que se nos acogiera correctamente en el resto de los lugares que visitábamos. Con él, todo fueron facilidades, nos aconsejaba para elegir comida, compras, etc. Siempre pendiente de nuestras necesidades y con un plan B en la manga, por si las circunstancias lo requerían. Been to Bangkok 2 years ago and now i back for more. Try to searching through net and found Charlie on utopia site. Send an email enquiry, reply promptly and i set to go bangkok 2 weeks later. I spend 4 days in bangkok and Charlie had accompanied me not only the program i subscript with him, we also go dinner as i travel alone. Also, we have fun on shopping in JJ Market as well as Siam Paragon. Is very hot in bangkok and charlie no complaint and accompanied me to those location. Our family vacation this year was to Thailand. While we have been to Bangkok a number of times on our own, this time we had my Mom, sister, nephew, an Aunt, her granddaughter and my partner's Mom. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted (and didn't want) to do and none of the standard tours fit our plan. Based on the recommendations we read on-line, we contacted Charlie to see if he could help us. I described the outline of what we wanted to see in Bangkok and Charlie got back in touch we me quickly with a proposed plan for a day trip around the city. It is easy to say that Charlie exceeded my expectations, but what really impressed me was how capable he was with working with a group that ranged from ages 16 to 77. The entire family is now a big fan of Charlie and count our day spent with him in Bangkok as one of the most enjoyable "tourist" days of the visit. We found Charlie to be punctual, fun to talk with and very knowledgeable about the city and Thai culture and history. The Bangkok tour of the Grand Palace complex, Wat Po and the flower market went so well that we decided to arrange another tour with Charlie. We basically asked him what he would recommend for a day trip out of the city and we just went with his recommendation. We are certainly glad we did. We went to see the market on the train tracks which we combined with a visit to a "touristy" floating market along with a traditional local floating market as a contrast. We all enjoyed ourselves very much. Everything from the dependable transportation to the conversations with Charlie in between things. Bangkok was my first stop on a month long swing through SE Asia. I had two days in Bangkok using Charlie’s services. Having been to Thailand before, I've seen most of the main tourist sites in Bangkok. surrounding areas, and in the Northeast province of Isan อีสาน. I just ended a month long business related tour of Asia and was in Bangkok for a few days of rest and relaxation. I contacted Charlie several months before my arrival into Bangkok. We communicated via email and then phone several times. I was impressed by his English and his knowledge of typical "tourist things" and things "locals" do. For this tour, I wanted to see the "real" non-tourist Thailand. My time with Charlie was wonderful, he escorted me to many different places and truly catered everything to meet my needs. He is totally flexible and changes plans according to your needs. Charlie demonstrated a real "mai pen rai" attitude (Thai for "no worries" or "don't worry about it"). Before I made hotel reservations, I asked Charlie for his opinion. He asked about what I was looking for (quiet area, nice gym/pool, apartment style with washer/dryer) he gave me a few suggestions. I finally choose his first recommendation and was not disappointed! I enjoyed our many conversations which covered many different topics. He is a man with a brain and can carry a conversation. We would just like to thank Charlie for his great service to us last month when we were in Bangkok. We had booked a couple of days touring with Charlie and at the last minute we needed to change the arrangements and he was happy to oblige us. We had a fantastic day visiting the 'train' markets and the Bridge on the River Kwai and the highlight was the Tiger Temple. We got some great ‘Kodak’ moments with the tigers and we got a number of shots with Charlie and the tigers. Charlie was quite happy to add some extra stops along the way. We also went on a Royal Palace and temple tours and then to the flower markets and some other interesting places. Charlie showed Gayle how to fold the lotus leaves and she bought some and practiced back at our hotel. He gave us several tips and suggestions of places to visit in Bangkok and advised us where to go to avoid the ‘Red Shirt’ protestors who were demonstrating in Bangkok while we were there. For those considering engaging Charlie's personal services while in Thailand, we whole-heartedly recommend him 100% !!! You meet Charlie as a client, and leave as lifelong friends. From the beginning Charlie impecably schedules everything you'd like to see. We even requested changes, and the answer was simply "No Problem". His airport pickup service was a God-send, especially after travelling 27 hours. We were met at the airport, personally escorted to our private car and driven to our hotel. What a relief to not have to think about this upon our arrival in Bangkok. When you schedule Charlie's time, his time is yours for the entire day. It is simply wonderful to not have a "schedule" that you must obey while on a bus tour. What a fabulous guide! I spent ten days in Thailand. Five of those days were spent with Charlie giving me the best tours I can recall .. anywhere ... with anyone! I arrived in Bangkok late at night after 23 hours in the air and a few more in airports. The city made little impression on me until the next morning when I looked out of my hotel room window. The immense spread that lay in front of me looked just a bit daunting. I was glad Charlie was going to be taking me around. After 3 days with him, I was even happier. Phil put together a wonderful 5 day trip for me to the North to visit Sukhothai and Phitsanulok to see the Loy Krathong celebrations. As everyone says it really was just like traveling with a friend. During my recent trip to Bangkok, I had a wonderful experience with Charlie as my personal tour guide. Charlie took me on fascinating tour of Bangkok and we visited many interesting sites. Having been in Bangkok many times before, I was not interested in the typical tourist trips. Instead I wanted to do some good shopping (weekend market) and discover the local gay sites. Hi there ! I am Andy, I come from Viet Nam, the country has so many similar things like Thailand as well as different cultures. I love Thai country so much and I ‘ve been there so many times. But the time from 3rd –June to 8th- June I was in Bangkok is the best trip that I’ve had. And why I say that ???? Because this time I was helped and guided by Mr Phil, a very polite and helpful local guide in Thai. Although I just met him the first evening and the last afternoon till evening through my trip, but it was so happy and lucky to me to have that time. I couldn’t forget the time we were together and he showed me a lot of things, best places…. Especially, go with him, I could share all my secret feeling that made me happier because I cannot do that in my country. And so more, he also help me even though I am now not in Thai by email, by telephone…etc. All that time, I didn’t think he is a tour guide ! Still now, when I back to my country and so busy with my business, I always think that he is the best , biggest, greatest of mine in Thailand. I would have been literally and figuratively lost in Bangkok had it not been for the kind guidance of Phil. He tailored two days to meet perfectly my specific wants and needs. Because of him, I was able to navigate myself around the city. Phil toured me through the Grand Palace and Wat Po explaining the architecture, history, and Buddhist beliefs. He took through the beautiful, lush flower market, up to the JJ weekend market, and showed me the ropes aroundthe night life at Silom His warm, gentle spirit, knowledge, and great sense of humor made me feel as if I were traveling with a long time friend. I’v been to Bangkok for many times , and instead of visiting popular places again and again, I hoped to experience more local life during our stay in Bangkok this time. It’s fun Phil took us to take the motorized traffic boat, and also going to the moving market near the Maeklong Train Station is very interesting. In October 2008 I was in Thailand again for one month. Because of the very good experiences form the last year I toke Phil again as my privat guide. This time our trip went mainly to the northern part of Thailand; Pai and Mae Hong Son. Thanks to the point of Phil's nationality we were able to travel to places where I couldn’t go without the necessary language knowledge. So I saw places where I was nearly the first "farang". Very interesting. Phil was for me the best shopping guide in Bangkok. He knows where you get the best products to the best price. At the end he show me beautiful beaches in the south of Thailand, near Phuket and in Khao Lak. Phil is in my opinion: -the best guide for Thailand -the best shopping guide for Bangkok -the best tour organisator and for me a very good company. I was in Thailand in October 2007 for one month. My holidays were very enjoyable, relaxed and easy because Phil did organize everything for me, which makes it very comfortable for me. He knows a lot about Thailand so he showed me places where I would not be able to see as a normal tourist. I am delighted to have the opportunity to record a simple note of thanks on this blog. I recently returned from a fabulous holiday in Thailand. As I had never been there before I decided to find a personal guide. I ended up spending two wonderful days with Phil who took me to several fascinating sites in Bangkok, including some of its magnificent temples, the Jim Thompson house, and the very impressive performance of "Siam Niramit". Phil also accompanied me to one of Bangkok's foremost gay saunas where I had the best professional massage ever ! It was a treat to have my own personal guide. Phil knew absolutely everything about all the places we visited and could answer all my questions. We also had time to enjoy a few meals together where we talked freely about anything and everything. After a short while I felt like I had known Phil all my life. He was able to put a nervous traveller completely at ease and made me feel special and safe.
